PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting base for automobile capable of facilitating jotting down on a notebook or a pocket book, operation of a portable personal computer and eating in the automobile. SOLUTION: A long hole 2 in which a lower end of a steering wheel 3 of the automobile is fitted is formed near a front end of a plate-like mounting base body 1 in a right and left direction. An insertion piece 4 inserted between the lower end of the steering wheel 3 fitted in the long hole 2 and a lower surface of the mounting base body 1 is mounted to the lower surface of the mounting base body 1.
