PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present the optimum ratio of the outside diameter near the end part of a light guide fiber bundle to that near the end part of an image guide fiber bundle to be accommodated in an insert part of an endoscope. SOLUTION: As essential constitution, the light guide fiber bundle 21 and the image guide fiber bundle 23 are passed through the insert part 11 of the endoscope 10. When the inside radius of the insert part 11 is taken as 1, the radius b of the light guide fiber bundle 21 and the radius a of the image guide fiber bundle 23 satisfy the following equations: 0.545<=a<=0.581, 0.419<=b<=0.455 wherein a+b=1, so that the a bright image can be obtained most efficiently.
