PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an air cleaning machine being able to detect and display smoke, pollen and dust separately. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a dust sensor 4 which generates a detection pulse in the case of exceeding the threshold value, by irradiating air taken in with light from light source, generating a scattered light pulse of a level corresponding to particle sizes when dust particles in air are passed in the irradiating area, comparing the level of the scattered light pulse with a threshold value inputted from the outside a threshold value generating means 4a which generates the threshold value while switching it at each prescribed time, a smoke rank decision means 5a ranking according to an output level of smoke (small size dust) detected by the dust sensor 4, a smoke display means 6a displaying corresponding to a smoke rank determined by the smoke rank decision means 5a, a pollen and dust rank decision means 5b ranking according to an output level of pollen and dust (large size dust) by the dust sensor 4, and a pollen and dust display means 6b displaying corresponding to a pollen and dust rank determined by the pollen and dust rank decision means 5b. |
