PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher having such structure that allows effective use of a space of a kitchen to correspond to many kitchens without impairing an advantage of the dishwasher and capable of being manufactured at low cost. SOLUTION: In this dishwasher having a rack storing tableware, a washing tank storing the rack, and a washing means for washing the tableware in the washing tank, the washing tank has an inlet for taking in and out the rack or the tableware in the front of it, the inlet is provided with a door, and a dimension of the door protruding forward from the inlet is smaller than a height or a width of the inlet while the door is opened.
