PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original film for a lithographic plate which enables attainment of a clear printed matter free from a stain in a non-image part by heating by a heating device or by the effect of photothermal conversion of a laser light on the basis of digital signals of a computer or the like, or which can be fitted directly to a press without necessitating development. SOLUTION: The original film has on a substrate an image recording layer containing a compound made to emit a bivalent or more organic basic compound by heat (a) and a hydrophilic polymeric compound having an acid radical capable of acting mutually with the above basic compound (b). The compound (a) is preferably a salt of a compound expressed by the following formula and the bivalent or more organic basic compound. R-(SO2CH2COOH)X (wherein R denotes an alkyl or the like and X1 or 2).
