PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorant which contains a deodorization component having deodorization activity against aldehyde and a distinct indication function of an aldehyde adsorption degree with one component and does not entail sacrifice in terms of a cost and deodorizability for the purpose of the impartation of the adsorption indication function, volatilization resistance, or the like, of the deodorization component. SOLUTION: The deodorant has the deodorization component which forms a dark brown quinoline structure chromophore by conjugating with aldehyde, more particularly the deodorization component which has at least one amino group and one carboxyl group as substituents in a benzene ring and in which the carboxyl group is formed as its prescribed basic salt. The deodorization component is deposited on a porous body.
