PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a layer short judging apparatus and a layer short circuit judging method, which enables sure protection of electric wires from abnormal current of a layer short, on the occasion of the layer short circuit. SOLUTION: A control unit H for a fuse element F fitted with a layer short circuit judging function computes an accumulated value of quantities of heat which relates to a detected signal which accords to the magnitude of current, and the on-time and off-time of the detection signal at each passage of a specified time, and judges, on the basis of the computation result whether or not a malfunction is in an extent of not causing electric wires to smoke. |
