PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily set the track position to which the track jump is carried out at the time of track jump even for a disk drive allowing the high speed reproducing or high speed recording operation. SOLUTION: At the time of controlling the position of the laser beam emitted with an optical pickup 12 on the disk 1 by a control means 20, when the emitting position of the laser beam is track-jumped to the prescribed objective track position, the jump is made at the position scanned precedently by the specified distance from the objective track position, and the specified distance to be precedently jumped is arranged so as to variably set in accordance with the rotating speed of the disk set by a spindle servo means.
