PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method which makes it possible to obtain sufficient image density in initial image formation, is high in transfer efficiency and can prevent the occurrence of fogging, white streaks and voids in images. SOLUTION: Silicone oil is previously applied on the surface of a developer carrying roll in the image forming method of developing a latent image on a latent image carrying member by supplying a one-component developer containing a polyester resin and coloring agents by using the developer carrying roll.
