PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a waste gasification-melting furnace, which is stable with high thermal efficiency. SOLUTION: The gasification melting furnace for waste comprises a shaft gasification-furnace body 2 in which waste A is charged successively from above to be dried and pyrolyzed by a high-temperature gas, and a melting chamber furnace 3, which is provided integrally with an opening 2b at the lower end of the gasification furnace body 1 for receiving pyrolytic residue of the waste A. A burner 7 for heating and melting is provided against the slanting surface of the pyrolytic residue. The furnace 3 is provided with a port 6 for taking out melts of molten slag and metal, a gas-supply pipe 8 for supplying high-temperature gas generated in heat-melting time of the residue in the furnace 3 to the furnace body 2, and also a header duct 9.
