PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of a vending machine capable of moving a commodity from a storage zone to a sales zone corresponding to the sales state, shortening a residence time in the sales zone by heating or cooling only the commodity likely to be sold, and to thereby suppress deterioration of the commodity. SOLUTION: The numbers of the commodity 6 sold per fixed time are memorized in each commodity storage chamber 4, and the mean value of the numbers of the commodity sold in a prescribed time is calculated based thereon, and the mean value of the numbers of the sold commodity corresponding to time information is used as the predicted future number of the commodity to be sold and set as a predicted sales number A. Then, the sales zone number B remaining in the sales zone 8 is set from the difference between the sales waiting number (a) moved from the storage zone 7 to the sales zone 8 and the actual sales number (b), and the number to be replenished C to the sales zone 8 is calculated from the difference between the predicted sales number A and the sales zone number B, and the number C is moved to the sales zone 8 and heated or cooled.
