NICKEL ELECTRODE, PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF AND SECOND BATTERY USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A nickel electrode with improved durability and decreased internal pressure, and a preparation method thereof are provided. Also, a secondary battery with the nickel electrode is provided. The battery is economical because further process is not needed in the production, as well as a concentration change of an alkali electrolyte used in the battery is controlled to prevent the deterioration of battery. CONSTITUTION: The nickel electrode formed by charging an active material mixture containing a nickel hydroxide as a main component into nickel substrate comprises 0.5-1.5 wt.% of a metal hydride, 2-4 wt.% of a conductivity enhancer and polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE) as an adhesive, wherein each wt.% is based on the nickel hydroxide. The metal hydride is at least one selected from palladium, platinum and rhodium.
