PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizer for a toilet stool, which can suppress precipitation of silver chloride to surfaces of electrodes according to electrolysis and continuously elutes silver ions in a concentration that has a bactericidal force even in water containing large quantity of chlorine ions, such as reprocessed water, whereby deposition of scale and slime on a surface of the toilet stool is suppressed and generation of an odor is reduced. SOLUTION: The sterilizer for the toilet stool detects an electric conductivity of water fed to a urinal, and calculates an electric current value, based on a correlation formula between the electric conductivity optimal for eluting silver ions in a concentration in a predetermined range and the current value, followed by impressing the current on the silver electrode. If a resistance value across the electrodes is increased from a value assumed at the time of starting the electrolysis in excess of a predetermined range, current at a value two to ten times larger than the calculated current value is impressed. Before electrolytic spouting for generating silver ions, pre-washing only of water should be carried out. |
