The invention relates to a method according to which, in a switchboard (10), a service feature for recording call data is marked for a subscriber (TlnB). When a terminal of a calling subscriber (TlnA) transmits a call request to the terminal of the subscriber (TlnB) with the mark, a connection (56) is established between the switchboard (10) and a third terminal (40) in addition to the connection (52, 54) between the terminals of the two subscribers. The call data are saved in said third terminal (40). Depending on the signals received by the called subscriber (TlnB) after storage of the data, the call data remain stored or are deleted. The invention provides a method with which the subscriber (TlnB) can control the recording of call data in an easy manner.
