METHOD FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE GEOMETRY OF THE INNER SURFACE OF A CAVITY

The method for the reconstruction of the three dimensional structure of the surface of a cavity (1) in form of positioning data consists in introducing a probe (7) with an optical sensor (8) into the cavity. The probe (7) will be entered from the outside of the entrance of the cavity (1), thereby producing video signals which are transformed by means of a computer device into positioning data of the surface of the cavity (1). This method is preferably suited for the reconstruction of the outer ear canal and the data may be used to control a production device to fabricate the shells of hearing devices, such as hearing aids. Preferably, contrasting points will be applied onto the surface of the cavity before introducing the probe. The transformation of the video signals into the positioning data will preferably be performed by iterative use of factorization algorithms.
