PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ointment preparation improved in stability and usability. SOLUTION: This ointment preparation comprises a composition containing a slightly soluble medicine and polyethylene glycol(PEG) represented by the formula HOCH2(CH2OCH2)nCH2OH as a base. The PEG comprises [A] a liquid PEG wherein (n) is 2-9, [B] a solid PEG wherein (n) is 59-210 and [C] a semi- solid PEG which is a mixture in equal amount of PEG wherein (n) is 5-6 and PEG wherein (n) is 28-36. The composition is within the range of composition binding the following points when the composition is represented by the formula [A]x[B]y[C]z: (x=0.9, y=0.1, z=0), (x=0.65, y=0.35, z=0) and (x=0.75, y=0.2, z=0.05).
