PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound capable of inhibiting IL-6 production and useful as a prophylactic and/or therapeutic agent for various inflammatory diseases, septicemia, multiple myeloma, plasmacytic leukemia, osteoporosis, cachexia, psoriasis, nephritis, renal cell carcinoma, Kaposi sarcoma, chronic articular rheumatism, hypergammaglobulinemia, Castleman's disease, intra-atrial myxoma, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, hepatitis, colitis, graft-versus-host diseases, infectious diseases and endometriosis.
