PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propeller shaft in which buckling or bent deformation of tube stepped portions of a propeller shaft occur in the predetermined order at vehicle collision and interference with other vehicular parts can be surely avoided. SOLUTION: (1) The propeller shaft 10 has two or more tube stepped portions 12 in which a taper angleθof one or more tube stepped portions is different from that of another tube stepped portion. (2) Two tube stepped portions 12 are interposed between two joints 13. (3) Three or more tube stepped portions 12 are interposed between the two joints 13. (4) In the propeller shaft, there are three or more joints 13 between which tube portions 11 exist, each of two or more tube portions 11 between the joints 13 has two or more tube stepped portions 12, and a taper angleθof one or more tube stepped portion 12 is different from that of another tube stepped portion.
