PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin composition excellent in shell- forming property an combustion, yet exhibiting high flame-retardancy with a little amount of a flame-retardant inorganic compound, and moreover excellent in mechanical strength, abrasion resistance and processability of the resin composition. SOLUTION: The flame-retardant resin composition comprises an ethylene/ alkyl unsaturated carboxylate copolymer (I), an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer (II) and a flame-retardant inorganic compound (III), where the ethylene/alkyl unsaturated carboxylate copolymer (I) is an ethylene/alkyl unsaturated carboxylate copolymer prepared using an autoclave polymerizer.
