PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head having satisfactory efficiency, wherein the break (leakage) of a magnetic gap and the deterioration of the characteristics of a magnetic film are not generated. SOLUTION: In the magnetic head 100 having a sliding surface 120 which is formed at a magnetic core and a magnetic recording medium slides on, a magnetic gap g formed by disposing at least the magnetic film 130 and gap materials 130a and 130b on the sliding surface, a groove part 170 disposed to the one end part or both end parts of the magnetic gap and a non-magnetic material 161 disposed in the groove part, the aspect ratio (the depth of the groove/the width of the groove) of the groove part is more than 1 and a non- magnetic oxidized film 170a is formed at the groove part by a CVD(Chemical Vapor Deposition) method.
