PURPOSE: A system and a method for transmitting a multimedia message are provided to produce a multimedia message using a street or indoor multimedia message production equipment, and to transmit the multimedia message using a high speed network connected. CONSTITUTION: In a multimedia message production part(100), video production units(10,11) produce multimedia messages with his/her look or motion pictures on the spot. An editing part(12) extracts a multimedia message file, if necessary, to edit the messages. In a multimedia message transmission part(200), a gateway(13) connects networks different with each other according to transmission paths for transmitting the produced multimedia messages. A high speed network(14), an Internet network(15) and a wired/wireless service provider network(16) transmit the produced multimedia messages. In a message receiving part(300), a fixed terminal(17) of an indoor wired subscriber receives the multimedia messages. Many fixed terminals(18) get Internet services over the Internet network(15). A multimedia message server(19) stores the multimedia messages. A provider service network(20) provides a service to transmit the multimedia messages stored in the multimedia message server(19) to wired/wireless subscribers. And a mobile terminal(21) receives the produced multimedia messages through the multimedia message server(19) over the provider service network(20).
