PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a known rectangular electric connector to provide a basis for easy and simple mass production thereby. SOLUTION: In this electric connector 10, in particular, for sensor technology, a contact passage 17 for receiving each contact 16 is formed in a contact carrier 11 manufactured preliminarily of an insulating material, and a grip 13 is fixedly coupled to the carrier 11. The grip 13 is a constitutive portion integral with the contact carrier 11 manufactured preliminarily in the present invention and has plural stranded wire passages 27 for inserting insulated stranded wires 14 of a connection conductor 15, the passages 27 are crossed with the each contact passage 17 located in the carrier 11 at an angle W, the each contact 16 received into the contact passage 17 has at least one protrusion 31 intruded into the stranded wire 14 in its rear side and is movable from an unoperated position inside the contact passage 17 to its contact position, and the protrusion 31 is located in the contact position inside the stranded wire 14 held already in the stranded wire passage 27.
