PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitor hood which is not bulky when it is packaged, transported, and stored and furthermore hardly deformed in transportation. SOLUTION: A monitor hood is nearly U-shaped in cross section and equipped with a mounting part which is mounted on a monitor in a freely detachable manner so as to confront the top surface, left, and right side of the monitor, and a light shield which prevents external light from entering the scope of the monitor which protrudes forward from its front when the mounting part is mounted on the scope. The monitor hood is formed through a manner in which a flat plate-like to surface split body nearly as wide as the top surface of the monitor and a pair of L-shaped side split bodies which have each the one side of its L shape so as to confront the side of the monitor and the other side to overlap with the edge of the top surface split body are assembled together.
