PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an escrow settlement system capable of safely performing commercial transaction between individuals, to make the price payment procedures convenient and reducing the merchandise distribution expenses by mediating settlement in the commercial transaction between individuals. SOLUTION: The escrow settlement system is characterized by providing a virtual account preparing means to prepare virtual accounts consisting of electronic information based on prescribed pieces of information to be transmitted respectively from a seller and a purchaser of merchandise, a cargo collection instructing means to transmit a shipping instruction of the merchandise to the seller of the merchandise and to transmit a cargo collecting instruction of the merchandise to a distributor when money reception information including price information of the merchandise for the virtual account of the purchaser of the merchandise is received and a virtual account transfer means to transfer the price information of the merchandise from the virtual account of the purchaser of the merchandise to the virtual account of the seller of the merchandise when a distribution completion report of the merchandise to the purchaser of the merchandise is received from the distributor.
