PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of spot burns on a fluorescent screen, a burning of an aperture grille and the like in a Hi-Gm tube with an electric gun comprising a Gm electrode. SOLUTION: In a CRT display equipped with a CRT comprising a cathode 2, an electrode G1 3, an electrode G2 4 and an electrode G3 6 in this order, and moreover comprising a CRT with an electron gun with an electrode Gm 5 for modulation arranged between the electrode 4 and the electrode 6, a voltage source 8 for reducing output voltage applied to the electrode 5 to control a strength of electronic beams from the cathode 2 to a screen when a protection control signal is inputted.
