The present invention describes a mounting band to be used with a silencer which includes an arcuate continuous strip having first and second ends. The strip is positioned in extension peripherally around the silencer. The first and second ends of the strip are jointly secured in a union to retain the strip as a continuous band around the silencer. A hanger is secured to a continuous portion of the strip in a place apart from the union or stitching.
