The invention relates to an optical modifier in which signals of individual wavelength channels or a plurality of wavelength channels are coupled into or out of transmitter and/or receiver elements including for example waveguides. The aim of the invention is to provide an optical modifier that is adapted to specifically influence one or more wavelength channels, that is inexpensive to produce and that allows for a highly loss-free coupling in and/or out of light, requiring a minimum of space and at the same time being easy to adjust. To this end, at least one coupling device (20) that has a curved reflecting surface (8) and one wave-modifying element (19) are provided. The invention further relates to a method for producing an optical modifier, wherein the reflecting surface (8) is produced as a part of a surface of revolution that has a conic section as the generating envelope.
