The present invention disclose a new polypeptide-human biphenyl hydrolase-related protein (Bph-rp)16.06, the polynucleotide encoding it and a method producing the polypeptide by recombinant DNA technology. The present invention further disclose a method of using the polypeptide to treat various disorders, e.g. cholesterol metabolic disturbance, aromatic amino acid metabolic disturbance, adrenine/noradrenaline, thyroxine metabolic disturbance etc..Thepresent invention also disclose an antagonist of the polypeptide and its therapeutic use.
