Polypeptides containing a C-type lectin carbohydrate recognition domain play roles in many essential functions, such as organization of the extracellular matrix, endocytosis, primary immune system function, and blood cell interaction. As such, this class of proteins often provides therapeutically useful drugs. The present invention provides a lectin, designated "Zlec1".
