PURPOSE: A position tracking method of a mobile terminal is provided to request the transmission of position data from a mobile terminal whenever a sever needs the position data and to enable the mobile terminal to transmit current position to the sever in order to detect the position of the mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A position tracking system checks whether a user requests position information(301). If the user has requested position information, the position tracking system requests position information from a server through a communication network(302). When the position information is transferred to the server through the communication network, the server receives a query content of the position information(303) and requests a mobile terminal to detect the position information through a radio network(304). The mobile terminal receives the position information request(305), detects the position information of itself(306), and transfers the position information to the server through the radio network(307). The server receives the position information and processes it(308), transfers the position information to the user through the communication network(310) to display the position information(310). |
