PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminating device which is easily adjustable, low in manufacturing cost and can emit a stable and uniform laser beam with time to an illumination area. SOLUTION: The illuminating device is provided with a cylindrical lens array 15, a cylindrical lens 16 which projects a far-field image orienting to the row of an emitter 11 in the laser beam emitted from a bar laser 12 on the cylindrical lens array 15, a cylindrical lens 17 which superposes and projects the far-field image of the laser beam divided by the cylindrical lens array 15 on a linear illumination area on the surface of a spatial light modulator 13 and cylindrical lenses 18 and 19 which form a near-filed image crossing at a right angle the direction of the row of the emitter 11 in the laser beam emitted from the bar laser 12 on the linear illumination area of the spatial light modulator 13.
