PURPOSE: To provide a bobbin thread winding device which is low-cost and with which a variety of threads can be set with a high reliability. CONSTITUTION: The bobbin thread winding device is composed of a bobbin supplying means 11 provided with a thread supplying nozzle 14, a bobbin changing device 30 provided with a function of longitudinally moving a bobbin 72 and a bobbin case 70 and other functions, a bobbin rotating means 20 for rotating the bobbin 72, a thread handling means 40 with a moving mess for handling and cutting the thread after the bobbin thread is supplied, and the like. At the time of guarding the thread, the bobbin case 70 is longitudinally moved and the extremity end 14a of the thread supplying nozzle 14 extending the bobbin thread L is relatively moved so that it is positioned on the back 70f of the bobbin case 70. At the same time, the bobbin 72 is rotated by a winding motor M1 and a tension is applied to the bobbin thread L for guiding the bobbin thread L to a thread guiding-out section 70c.
