PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a liquid crystal device capable of alignment with extraordinary precision and generating no alignment defect. SOLUTION: An ultraviolet(UV) curing and thermosetting sealant is formed on an element substrate. In a step S21 the element substrate and a counter substrate are alignment treated and in a step S22 UV pre-curing is carried out thereto. Furthermore, UV temporary curing is carried out in a step S23. In these UV curing treatment steps, exposure is carried out with 500-2,000 mJ and no alignment defect is generated. Also in the next thermosetting step, the element substrate and the counter substrate are fixed to a degree that suppresses change in dimension. In the next step S24, heat treatment is carried out so as to surely cure the sealant.
