PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retrieval and read service method and system by which a user can retrieve and read Web page information released to the public in the past on a network. SOLUTION: A robot engine part 16 timely accesses a Web site on the Internet 12 and acquires the Web page information. A registered information extracting part 18 extracts text data from the acquired Web page information and also generates the image data of the Web page image. The generated image data are recorded on a Web image database 24, and the extracted text data, the URL of the Web page image, and its acquisition date and file name of the image data are also associated with one another and recorded on a Web information database 22. A registered information retrieval part 20 retrieves the database 22 in response to a retrieval and read request from a user terminal 14 and transmits the text or image data of a corresponding Web page to the user terminal 14.
