PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which permits connecting a driving circuit to a terminal part of a display panel easily and surely and permits making the thickness thin to the utmost even in such a type that plural display panels are laminated and a producing method thereof. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device is constituted by laminating three liquid crystal display panels which are provided with scanning electrodes for subjecting the liquid crystal inserted between a pair of substrates to a matrix drive, and signal electrodes. The respective panels, in the laminated state, are disposed in such a manner that terminal parts of the signal electrodes of a pair of upper and lower display panels which are adjacent face to the opposite side to each other, that is, the terminals of signal electrodes which are formed on the substrate 11G of middle panel and the substrate 11R of lower panel face to the upward and downward directions and flexible printed circuit boards 16G, 16R provided with a signal drive circuits 17G and 17R are connected to the respective terminals. Therein, signal drive circuits 17R, 17G and 17B are disposed so as not to be overlapped to each other.
