PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat exchanger with a high degree of design freedom to be used for a heat exchange between two different fluids, more particularly, a heat exchanger for reducing a possibility of mixing the two fluids also when a heating tube is broken in the fluids to react when contacted, especially, a heat exchanger suitable for a steam generator in a liquid metal cooled fast breeder. SOLUTION: A heat exchange of first fluid and second fluid is performed by natural convection of an intermediate heating medium 4 in the heat exchanger in which many layers made of helical coil heating tubes 2 are concentrically provided within a body 1, a layer arranged with many straight heating tubes 3 is provided between each layer of the helical coil heating tubes 2, the first fluid 1 is passed through the helical coil heating tube 2, the second fluid is passed through the straight heating tubes 3 and the intermediate heating medium 4 is filled in a heat exchange region. |
