PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the output image density at the time of copying or the like have almost the same density in any cases by detecting whether read is to be performed from an automatic original feeding device or the read is to be performed from an original platen and performing luminance density conversion by using a different table in the plural kinds of luminance density conversion tables for determining the correspondence of a luminance value and a density value corresponding to the detected result. SOLUTION: The image sensor 301 of this reader divides the tip to the end of an original into many line lines and reads them and a luminance correction part 302 A/D-converts the output voltage and stores the luminance value for one white reference line in an internal memory. A luminance density conversion part 303 refers to the luminance density conversion table (RAM) 304 storing the correspondence relation of the luminance value and the density value and converts the obtained luminance value to the corresponding density value. In the case of performing the read from the automatic original feeding device of larger luminance compared to the original platen, the luminance density conversion table for which an output density value is larger to the luminance value is written from a ROM 305 to the RAM 304. |
