PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic polycarbonate excellent in color tone. SOLUTION: This aromatic polycarbonate having melt fluidity is produced by reacting an aromatic dihydroxy compound with a dicarbonate in heat-melting, wherein a viscosity-average molecular weight is 6,000 or above and 22,000 or below, the crystal melting point Tm( deg.C) is <=320 deg.C, and fluidity appears at the heating temperature T( deg.C) satisfying 0<=Tm-T<=70 deg.C.
