PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooking heater in which heat generated from a heat generating member can be utilized efficiently for heating foods in a heating chamber. SOLUTION: A microwave oven 1 comprises a heater unit 9 disposed in the rear of a heating chamber 50. The heater unit 9 comprises a fan 95 disposed in the center of a case 90 which is packed with a base 92 of thermal insulation material around the fan 5. Heat generating members 91 of strip-shaped metal is inserted into the base 92 on the heating chamber 50 side. When the fan 95 is operated, heat generated from the heat generating members 91 is supplied into the heating chamber 50.
