PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a column structure and a column construction method capable of minimizing an increase of the number of part items without changing the connection details with an outer wall panel or a horizontal member for increasing the yield strength of a column. SOLUTION: A main column 1 is provided with a fitting section (nut 3) for fitting the outer wall panel 2A, and a reinforcing column 9 is erected on the rear face side of the main column 1. The lower end of the main column 1, the lower end of the reinforcing column 9, and a plate 15 are connected together on a base plate 12 by welding or the like. Plates 10, 11, 15 are provided between the main column 1 and the reinforcing column 9, and they are fixed together by being welded to both columns 1 and 9. Such cases that the required column yield strength exceeds the yield strength of the main column 1 at different degrees can be coped with by preparing a reinforcing column 9A and a reinforcing column 9B different in reinforcing force (different in cross sectional size) as the reinforcing column 9.
