INTEGRATED CIRCUIT INCLUDING ESD CIRCUIT FOR MULTICHIP MODULE AND ITS METHOD

PURPOSE: An integrated circuit including ESD circuit for multichip module and its method are to provide electrostatic discharge protection of the multichip module in an integrated circuit. CONSTITUTION: In the protection against ESD damage, one or more I/O circuit is selectively rendered nonoperative, operative or nonexisting. At the time of use, the integrated circuit is connected to other integrated circuit to form a multichip module and ESD protection of I/O circuit between modules is rendered nonoperative or nonexisting. It is favorable because expectation of ESD damage onto that I/O circuit is reduced when a multichip module is formed.
