PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for accurately controlling output of a Stirling engine. SOLUTION: The Stirling engine includes a casting 100, a discharger 1, a first connecting rod 11, a second connecting rod 21, a work piston 2, a flywheel 6 and an adjustment bolt 5. An exhaust passage 4 radially extending outward is formed between the work piston 2 and the discharger 1 of the casting 100. The adjustment bolt 5 is joined to the outer end of the exhaust passage 4 by a thread. When the adjustment bolt 5 is screwed in the exhaust passage 4, a volume of the casting 100 is reduced to increase a rotational speed of the flywheel 6. When the adjustment bolt 5 is screwed out of the exhaust passage 4, the volume of the casting 100 is increased to reduce the rotational speed of the flywheel 6. When the volume of the casting 100 changes, the rotational speed of the flywheel 6 is effectively changed to easily control the output of the Stirling engine.
