PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hinge device which is suitable for supporting a large- sized liquid crystal display to allow tilting movement. SOLUTION: The hinge device comprises: a bracket member 12 having an attaching portion 19, a pivotally supporting part 20, a top regulating part 21 and a lower regulating hole 22; a shank member 11 rotatably mount-supported at the pivotally supporting part 20; a first braking member 13 mounted relatively non-rotatable and movable in axial direction with respect to the shank member 11, and a second braking member 14 mounted relatively rotatable and axially movable with respect to the shank member 11, wherein further the second braking member 14 having a cutaway 32 in the upper portion which engages non-rotatably about the central axis with the top regulating part 21 and formed with an engaging piece 33 on the lower portion which engages non-rotatably about the central axis with the lower regulating hole 22 is provided, and a nut member 17 which engages threadedly with the tip portion of the shank member 11 to made contact under pressure the first braking member 13 and the second braking member 14 is also provided.
