PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking construction for a lid of a compact underground structure having small number of parts. SOLUTION: A lock body 12 is installed in a freely oscillating manner to the bottom surface of a lid main body 3, the lid main body 12 is made lockable to the inner periphery of a receiving frame 2 for placing a lid main body 3; in a locking construction of the lid for the underground structure formed with an opening portion 3a to which only a hook portion 20a formed at the tip of a bar 20 at the outer peripheral edge of the lid main body 3, the lock main body 12 is journaled in a freely oscillating manner directly below an edge of opening at the center side of the lid main body 3 of the opening portion 3a, a pressing portion 12b is provided at a position below the opening portion 3a at the top, a linking projection 12a linked to a lock seat 2b formed to the inner periphery of the receiving frame at the bottom portion is provided; by pushing the hook portion 20a of the bar 20 to a gap between the opening edge at the center side of the lid main body 3 of the opening portion 3a and the pressing portion 12b of the lock main body 12, the bottom surface of the hook portion 20a pushes down the pressing portion 12b thereby creating a locking state in the configuration.
