PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of worsened correcting accuracy in attitude correcting by the reason of the occurrence of looseness. SOLUTION: This sheet carrying device is provided with two aligning rollers 1a and 1b for correcting an attitude of the sheet 2 while carrying the sheet 2, a tension applying means for applying tensile force to the sheet 2 carried by the aligning rollers 1a and 1b by energizing the two aligning rollers 1a and 1b in the mutually separating direction and sheet detecting sensors 20a and 20b for detecting the side end of the sheet 2 to which the tension is applied by the tension applying means. The two aligning rollers 1a and 1b correct the attitude of the sheet 2 by moving in the direction for crossing the carrying direction based on a detecting result of the sheet detecting sensors 20a and 20b.
