PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing ammonia by a catalytic hydrolysis of urea and a method for treating an exhaust gas. SOLUTION: In a boiler 11 for burning a fuel, there is provided a feeding nozzle 15 for feeding an alkali-added urea solution 14, which produces ammonia (NH3) for decomposing a nitrogen oxide contained in an exhaust gas 13 near the inlet 12a of a rear flue 12 in the back wash side of a furnace outlet 11a.
