PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely push down an article forward to make the front side surface of a predetermined side of the article face down. SOLUTION: A device for pushing down the article forward includes an inclined chute 15 for carrying a bagged article 20, a holding portion 16 provided at the bottom of the inclined chute 15 for halting and holding the bagged article 20 on the inclined chute 15 with abutment of the bottom portion 20d of the bagged article 20 sliding down on the inclined chute 15, and first to third nozzles 17, 18, and 19 for pushing down the bagged article 20 so as to make its front face down by blowing the pressure air at predetermined time intervals successively from the point with shorter distance, with respect to the predetermined points with relatively short to relatively long distances from the top portion 20c of the bagged article 20, or the top portion, center portion, and bottom portion of the back side surface 20a facing to the inclined chute 15 of the bagged article 20 held by the holding portion 16.
