PURPOSE: A safe operation method of a microwave oven is provided to prevent fire by discharging gas from the microwave oven with using a convective fan in driving a magnetron over the reference time. CONSTITUTION: Cooking is started in inputting cooking time(200), and a magnetron is driven with a control unit. The control unit counts cooking hours in driving the magnetron, and detects counting time to be over 30 minutes(210). Cooking is finished at the established cooking time in case of the magnetron driving time to be less than 30 minutes(220). A convective motor is installed in the rear part of a cooking chamber, and driven with the control unit(230). The convective motor is actuated in passing 30 minutes after driving the magnetron to the established cooking time(240). Fire is prevented with discharging gas by driving a convective fan in driving the magnetron over the reference value.
