PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily producing an alkyl-eliminating pyrrolotriazole coupler having high versatility in high yield. SOLUTION: 5-Sulfonylaminomethyl-1H-pyrrolo-[1,2-b][1,2,4] triazoles and 5-acylaminomethyl-1H-pyrrolo-[1,2-b][1,2,4]triazoles are produced by using a compound expressed by general formula (I) (R1 is H or a substituent; R2 and R3 are each an electron attractive group having a Hammett's substituent constantσp of >=0.2; R4 and R5 are each a substituent; R6 is an alkyl or an aryl; X is sulfonyl group or carbonyl group; and Y is a non-metallic atom group necessary for forming a ring containing the group). Preferably, the compound of general formula (II) is produced from a compound I-A through compounds of formulas I-B, I-C and I-D.
