PURPOSE: An extension sharing method in a simple exchange is provided to improve the efficiency of resource utility by sharing ports of the simple exchanges and using one port as an extension number of each user, if necessary. CONSTITUTION: If an extension subscriber inputs a log-in code and an assigned password through a terminal connected to a random extension(S12), an extension number corresponding to the inputted password is assigned in a corresponding extension(S13) and the extension is used by the assigned extension number. If the log-in is performed, the extension number is informed to a user and it is informed whether a stored voice message exists in the case of a simple exchange for providing a VMS(Voice Mail System)(S14). It is judged whether the extension in which the log-in is inputted is an extension designated as an exchange operator group(S15). If the extension is the extension designated as the exchange operator group, the extension is excepted from the exchange operator group(S16).
